A committed airport for the environment
Our commitments
Le Castellet International Airport is sustainably committed to protecting its environment, supporting biodiversity, actively participating in wildfire prevention and placing people at the heart of its social responsibility.
An environment to protect
Since 2015, Circuit Paul Ricard and Le Castellet International Airport have taken part in environmental monitoring of their activities through Apivigilance.
Through the study of pollinators, the APILAB laboratory measures quarterly the richness of floral biodiversity on both sites as well as the quality of the surrounding air.
Each season, the collected samples are analyzed, a biodiversity score is produced and compared with that of other sites with a similar environment. The latest score is 63.1%, above the target of 61%.
Mobilized against wildfires
Faced with the risk of wildfire, Le Castellet International Airport mobilizes alongside emergency services.
A water-bombing helicopter (HBO) from SDIS 83 and Canadairs are hosted during the summer period.
Circuit Paul Ricard also makes its water retention basin available, allowing aircraft to quickly refuel and intervene without delay in case of fire breakout.
Sharing our passion for aviation
Putting people at the heart of our strategy
For several years, Le Castellet International Airport has offered unforgettable days to children with disabilities or in difficulty.
In partnership with various associations, supported individuals have the opportunity to discover behind-the-scenes areas usually closed to the public, board a fire truck, access the control tower and live unique moments.
